Delete your account and data
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Elder Guard is made by Upton Software Ltd. Liability Company and is one app with two roles, Guardian and Elder. Everyone signs in with an account: a Guardian using Elder Guard in the Guardian role, and the protected person using Elder Guard in the Elder role. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Here’s how, in either role.
Elder Guard (Guardian role) — delete your account
The fastest way is in the app:
- Open Elder Guard in the Guardian role and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account & data.
- Read what will be removed, tick “I understand this cannot be undone,” and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again to confirm it’s you.
- Your account (sign-in) with Elder Guard.
- Your list of Elders and every setting for each — trusted contacts, watched words, and controls.
- All text, email, and call records saved on your device, and any safety questions.
- The private keys and recovery phrase stored on your device.
- Your encrypted relay mailbox, including any messages awaiting delivery.
- Your subscription records on our servers, and the cover they gave to each protected device.
Elder role — turn off protection and delete data
The protected person signs in to Elder Guard in the Elder role with their own account. To remove protection and delete the app’s data, and your account if you want, on the Elder's phone:
- Open Elder Guard in the Elder role.
- Tap the Settings tab and choose Remove protection & delete data.
- To delete your account too, tick Also delete my account. Do this only if you don’t use Elder Guard on any other phone: they stop being protected too.
- Tick “I understand this cannot be undone,” tap Remove protection & delete data, and confirm.
Your Guardians are told that protection was removed, and the phone is taken off their lists. The app’s data and keys on that phone (including any email account you connected to Elder Guard) and that phone’s relay mailbox are deleted, and you are signed out. Unless you ticked “Also delete my account,” your account stays, so you can still use Elder Guard on your other devices. If the account can’t be deleted straight away, you are asked to sign in again and repeat the steps. Nothing already saved on a Guardian’s phone is deleted. Uninstalling the app also removes the data it stored on that device.
Can’t open the app? Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email elderguardadmin@elderguard.info from the email address associated with your account and ask us to delete your account and data. We’ll verify your request and complete the deletion, and confirm when it’s done, within 30 days.
What we keep, and for how long
Elder Guard never stores readable messages, calls, emails, or contacts on our servers — that content stays on the phones and is end-to-end encrypted in transit. When you delete your account:
- Your relay mailbox and its contents are deleted immediately.
- The records our servers keep for your account (whether it is a Guardian’s or a protected person’s, your subscription records and cover links) are deleted automatically.
- Data on your own device is erased by the in-app deletion, or by uninstalling the app.
- We do not retain a readable copy of your content. Limited, non-content records required for legal or security reasons (for example, basic request logs) may persist for a short period and are then removed.
Deleting your account does not remove Elder Guard from anyone else’s phone, and does not remove other Guardians of the same Elder. If your subscription was covering a protected device, that cover ends with your account.
